What is an article labeled “The Paddock Staff”?

An article labled posted or written by “The Paddock Staff” is a ”press release”. A “press release” is basically promotional propaganda issued by a racer, team, company or organization presenting their version of reality, which may or may not be accurate. Press releases are issued to inform the public about an event, product, or service from the issuer’s own commercially motivated point of view.

A press release is not an article written by  The Paddock Report staffers. When a post is labeled with the words “The Paddock Staff,” it means that The Paddock Staffers did not write it, did not issue it, are not responsible for its content and that paddockreport.com/tankslapperz.com makes no guarantee that the contents of the press release are accurate. Basically we just post it, and label the source of the information at the top or bottom of the article. Articles written by our staff are posted with the journalist or editor’s name next to the “written by” column.

If you are outraged or otherwise disagree with the contents of a press release, your complaint is with the issuer of the press release in question. While we may (or may not) post comments or e-mails pointing out errors in or disagreeing with press releases, any posted comments or e-mails blaming paddockreport.com/tankslapperz.com for any such error made by the issuer of a press release will be labeled as being from a dumbass who cannot tell the difference between a press release issued by a third party and a news story produced by Paddockreport.com/Tankslapperz.com. Not all press releases are posted and Paddockreport.com/Tankslapperz.com may reject press releases entirely if the content is too heavy on commercial promotion with little or no news value, or if we just plain feel like it.
